In addition to being famous for it’s downtown shopping area and great schools, there are many regular events in Pleasanton enjoyed by one and all. The Saturday Farmer’s Market is very popular year round! On First Wednesdays from May to October Main Street is blocked off to traffic and a themed street fair ensues with booths, displays and live music. Then there is Fridays in the Park from June until September where local bands play in Wayside Park off First Street. Music style is eclectic, but admission is free.
Pleasanton is easily accessible by car, being conveniently located at the Junction of Interstates 580 and 680. Pleasanton has 2 BART stations (BART is the Bay Area Rapid Transit rail system), the newest one being located on the perimeter of the Stoneridge Mall. BART provides access to the Oakland International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, the city of San Franciso, O.co Coliseum (home of the Oakland A’s) and more.
