Pleasanton CA Faves ¬ Things to Do in Pleasanton CA ¬ Free Bay Friendly Garden Tour April 27 2008
The Fifth Annual Bay-Friendly Garden Tour is Sunday, April 27 2008 - 10am to 4pm. This FREE self-guided tour features over 30 public and private gardens in geographic clusters throughout Alameda County. Several of the garden clusters are walkable and/or bikeable. Registration is required to receive a guidebook with directions and garden descriptions. You can call 510-444-SOIL (7645) and register over the phone so that a tour guide book can be mailed to you.
Native plants, Mediterranean climate perennials and vegetable starts will be available for sale at select gardens (check your guide book for details).
Bay-Friendly is a holistic approach to gardening and landscaping that works in harmony with the natural conditions of the San Francisco Bay Watershed. Bay-Friendly practices foster soil health, conserve water and other valuable resources while reducing waste and preventing pollution.
